Italy and beyond

While we feel that Italy offers everything you could want from a family vacation in Europe, we also appreciate that you may want to make the most of your holiday time by visiting different cultures and having different experiences. For this reason, we offer customised family holidays that include stops in more than one country. For example, a popular favourite among our customers is a Rome and Paris twin-centre holiday, which is a great choice for families as you can mix the culture and history of Rome with the excitement of Disneyland Paris.

Here are some of our favourite twin-centre vacations for families:

Rome and Paris

This is a safe bet for families as the children will be sure to enjoy the entertaining sights in Rome, such as the Gladiators in full costume outside the Colosseum, the zoological park, which features big cats, elephants and monkeys, and the multitude of themed tours that can be enjoyed, such as the Angel & Demons tour, which is based on the book by Dan Brown. Meanwhile, Paris offers plenty of fun at Disneyland, as well as Jardin du Luxembourg, which has large sand-pits for children to play in, and (of course) the Eiffel Tower.

Venice and Amsterdam

Direct flights are available between Venice and Amsterdam, making it a good choice for a fuss-free twin-centre vacation in Europe and this is a good choice if you have older children.

As a floating city, Venice offers plenty of unique sights, including hand-steered gondolas cruising down the Grand Canal, the Ducal Palace and the magnificence of Piazza San Marco. The city also hides some dark secrets, which older children can enjoy discovering on a ghost legend tour around Castello and Cannaregio. Meanwhile, Amsterdam offers safe cycle routes, boating and plenty of pretty parks that you can picnic in. You can also stop by the Artis Royal Zoo or any one of the many popular museums, including the NEMO Science Museum.

Milan and Barcelona

This is a great choice if you have a football fan in the family as you can stop by the San Siro stadium in Milan (where AC Milan and FC Internazionale play) and you can also enjoy a hot-air balloon ride over Milan or perhaps go to the famous AcquaWorld water park, which features heated pools, slides, water fountains and jet pools. Meanwhile, Barcelona is home to FC Barcelona and here you can enjoy a tour of their home ground – Camp Nou. You can also relax on the beach or enjoy a Segway tour of the city. There’s also a hop-on/hop-off CitySightseeing bus, which is a great way to see the best city sights if you’re on a budget.

Italian Lakes and Zagreb

If you’re a family of nature lovers then combining the Italian Lakes in North Italy with the Plitvice National Park near Zagreb in Croatia will surely make for a dream family holiday! The Italian Lakes, which include the vibrant Lake Garda and the more relaxed Lake Como, are well known for their beauty and there’s plenty to entertain an active family, including walking routes and cycling trails. Lake Garda is also home to Gardaland, which is a theme park with rides and attractions for all ages. Meanwhile, Zagreb offers thriving culture and impressive food that the children will enjoy. Near Zagreb, you will find Plitvice, which is known as the Lake District of Croatia. It features stunning waterfalls, eroded rocks and fragrant vegetation.
